Barbara Di Renzo

Barbara Di Renzo

Barbara Di Renzo is a metal artist, jewellery designer and art instructor from Cambridge, Ontario. She creates beautiful artwork, sculptures and jewellery, incorporating metals sourced from recycling plants and metal industries. These recycled metals include siding torn down from buildings, industrial parts or found objects that inspire her.

Barbara hand forges, flame paints, etches or oxidizes these metals, transforming them into sculptural designs to complement her contemporary paintings and wearable art. She mainly aligns the metal on her artwork to the left of the canvas, which generated the name of her art studio: Left Align Design.

Barbara was inspired by her father, Luciano Di Renzo, whose woodwork graces the Privy Council Office of the Parliament buildings, and the private collection of Queen Elizabeth. As a child, her home was filled with furniture, carvings and beautiful paintings created by her father, which encouraged her love for art.
