Esther Slevinsky is an acrylic painter from Kincardine, Ontario. She studied graphic design and illustration at The Alberta College of Art and Design. After working for two decades as a mural artist for commercial and residential projects, she transitioned from wall to canvas in 2018. 

Esther’s recent work explores domestic still life. This began as a way to resolve tension between her career and home life, honouring her primary role as Mom. Holding to the motto ‘paint what you know’, her work involves themes of domestic clutter, what reflects ‘home’, personal collections, toy scenarios set up by her children, and the demands of a short order cook. Esther is an observational painter and works directly from life.

Esther currently resides in Waterloo, Ontario with her husband and two young boys who enjoy leaving their items set up around the house for their mom to paint and are willing to pose for paintings as long as they are compensated.
